    Overview

    Rienda is the third planned area of Rancho Mission Viejo and will start selling in early 2022. Rienda encompasses over 2,200 acres making it nearly the size of Ladera Ranch. By completion, Rienda will have over 7,000 homes, 250 apartments, 150 affordable housing units and over 800 homes as part of the Gavilan 55 plus communities. There will also be a continuing care retirement community and spread amongst all the homes, will be the hallmark of Rancho Mission Viejo amenities – parks, clubhouses, pools, trails, fitness and more.

    Phase one of Rienda will encompass 671 homes in seven neighborhoods. In order to make homes more attainable, the initial homes will be smaller in scale and range up to 2,000 square feet on lot sizes up to 2,400 square feet. In comparison to Sendero and Escencia, Rienda will be the most densely populated of the neighborhoods averaging 18 housing units per acre versus Sendero of 8-10 and Esencia of 10-12. The four initial builders of Rienda’s first phase will be Pulte, Meritage, TRI Pointe and Lennar.
