Coto De Caza meaning hunting preserve in Spanish is a guard-gated community of approximately 15,000 people and 4,000 homes. The community is the oldest and most expensive master-planned community in Orange County which began in 1968 and was completed in the early 2000s and is surrounded by open space with horse trails and a 36-hole golf course within the community.

Coto De Caza is nestled in the foothills of south eastern Orange County and is bordered by Rancho Santa Margarita to the west and the Thomas R. Riley Wilderness Park to the east, north, and south.

The community is most easily accessible via the 241 Toll Road exiting at Rancho Santa Margarita Parkway or heading east on Oso Parkway off of Interstate 5 until it dead-ends into the community.
